KVD Service Management Prize 2014.

- Industry insiders have long known that seca Service is outstanding. Now it's been confirmed by customer service experts. seca Service has won the KVD (customer service association of Germany) Service Management Prize 2014!

The KVD is Europe's largest and most important industry association for managers in customer service and technical service in many different industries. The annual prize honors ideas for outstanding service innovations. In the finals, seca edged out two high-caliber competitors: the agricultural engineering firm CLAAS Service and Parts GmbH and the South Korean electronics concern Samsung Electronics GmbH.

Matthias Gerling, seca head of Technical Service & Service Sales, said, "We are delighted with this prize. It shows that our range of services impresses not only an increasing number of hospital operators, but recognized service experts and practitioners too. And the prize underscores the importance of German SMEs in services and showcases their innovative ideas and intelligent solutions."

The competition finalists had to win a majority of votes from the 425 attendees at   this year's KVD Service Congress (November 6-7 2014 in Munich). seca Service came out ahead with its innovative service concept and top user orientation.  

KVD Chairman Ramón Somoza said at the prize presentation, "This year we had thirteen strong applicants with impressive solutions. All three finalists gave excellent presentations. With the entry from seca gmbh & co., clever analog service won the race. Ingeniously simple!"

Scales in medical use are precision instruments that are subject to many legal regulations. In addition to potential misinterpretation in the implementation of regulations for scales, medical technicians in hospitals have to spend more time on organizational issues for scale maintenance than for other medical devices. It is not unusual for a hospital to encounter problems and incur additional costs when, for example, the Office of Weights and Measures rejects a scale and declares it unfit for use until it can be re-calibrated. The scale falls out of service and the hospital has to pay new fees and re-calibration costs.
