The goal is to provide the best possible support to future medal hopefuls from a sports science perspective.
The focus of the sports center is a laboratory in which the physical development of the athletes is regularly monitored. The UNAH acquired several seca mBCA medical Body Composition Analyzers for the measurement of body composition. The members of the association football and track & field teams of the UNAH who participated in the Juegos Deportivos Universitarios 2014 (2014 Central American University Games) were measured using the device.
Now the sports scientists at the UNAH always have their eye on successes in training such as fat loss and muscle development. The evaluation of the quality of cells with the aid of the phase angle also represents a great advantage for them.
In addition to determining fat, muscle mass, and water, nutrition counseling and fitness optimization are also a part of the standard program for top athletes in Honduras.
