“Meet the Experts on Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) in Malnutrition and Obesity” is on the program of the ESPEN congress in Leipzig at 12:45 on Sunday, 1 September 2013. seca gmbh & co. kg, the world’s market leader in medical measuring and weighing, invites congress participants to the international workshop in Room 10 on the second floor. This event gives all doctors an opportunity to gather information from acknowledged experts on the latest BIA research and clinical applications.

Dr. Manfred J. Müller (professor and head of the Institute of Human Nutrition and Food Science, Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel/Germany) and Dr. Marinos Elia (professor at the Institute of Human Nutrition and Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton, Southampton General Hospital, Great Britain) will lead the 45-minute workshop.

The advantages of Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis in the treatment of overweight and malnourished patients will be presented by Dr. Anja Bosy-Westphal, (professor at the Institute for Nutrition at the University of Hohenheim, Hohenheim, Germany) and Dr. Kristina Norman (nutritionist in the Department of Gastroenterology, Infectiology and Rheumatology, Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany).
