What makes seca’s products different?
Unique, proprietary features set our neonatal scales apart from the competition.
- For example, seca’s patented damping system compensates for baby movements during the weighing process, thereby providing a true weight each time and eliminating variation in weighing results.
- We are the only scale manufacturing company that designs scales specifically for medical use and with the healthcare practitioner’s needs in mind.
- We provide users with not just weighing systems but complete length and girth measuring devices as well.
How long has seca been in North America?
The company was established in North America in the mid-1980’s largely to service the World Health Organization. In the early 90's the primary focus shifted to servicing the U.S. medical community with our weighing and measuring devices.

Who uses seca scales?
seca scales are relied upon by the most prestigious hospitals in the country, including Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Leading research institutes such as the Harvard School of Public Health and Georgetown University also depend upon seca’s established precision and quality. In spring 2007, seca products will also be featured in The Learning Channel series, “Honey, We’re Killing the Kids” which deals with the growing childhood obesity epidemic.
Are seca scales priced competitively?
Even with all its advanced features and engineering standards, seca scales deliver high quality at a cost that is equal to other medical scale brands. Because we manufacture and sell hundreds of thousands of scales each year, we are able to offer very competitive pricing.
What neonatal scales does seca currently offer?
seca manufactures two different types of NICU scales – the seca 727 and the seca 728. Both the seca 727 and seca 728 possess a graduation of just two grams, unlike most scales which measure in no better then five gram graduations. Both scales also incorporate the proprietary damping system which compensates for a baby’s movement during the weighing process. The seca 728 also comes with the seca 231 measuring rod, which makes it a complete weighing and measuring station.
How can I buy a seca scale?
seca scales can be easily purchased and are available through all major medical distributors in North America. The products are found in many major hospitals that are GPO-compliant, and seca also is included on most approved vendor lists at hospitals around the country.
