Medical scales - better calibrated
Personal, bed and baby scales that are used for diagnostic purposes must be calibrated in Germany (Directives 93/42/EEC and 90/384/EEC). The medical scales must have the EC verification and belong to calibration class III. The calibration ensures high accuracy.
seca can calibrate itself
seca is certified to carry out the legally prescribed initial calibration for scales prescribed in the medical field in all production facilities itself. This makes the seca quality management system possible that is recognised by Eichdirektion Nord. seca was awarded ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certification by TÜV.
All suitable scales must later be recalibrated at the calibration authority. seca customer service is happy to take that over for you.
Validity period of calibrations:
- Bed and dialysis scales: 2 years
- Personal, chair and wheelchair scales in hospitals, clinics: 4 years
- Baby scales in medical practices or hospitals: 4 years
- Personal scales outside of hospitals, e.g. in
medical practices, pharmacies and retirement homes: indefinite
Personal scales not used in hospitals must be calibrated, but not recalibrated. Baby scales are an exception. Baby scales must be recalibrated every four years.
